The Only Thing Worth Dying For

So I just finished my latest read, "The Only Thing Worth Dying For", by Eric Blehm.  I was enthralled by the story telling of Blehm.  I was instantly connected to the Green Beret's mission and felt like I was embedded into the unit.  This book takes us into the inner workings of Afganistan and the defeat of the Taliban by a small, but highly effective combat unit of Green Berets using "Unconventional Warfare" to bring down an oppresive regime and support Hamid Karzai in his effort to unify his country from a splintered group of tribal factions to a unified country.  It was refreshing to gain an understanding of the goings on without the author trying to spin me into his opinion of the war, which after reading the book I couldn't tell you what Blehm's opinion of the war in Afganistan is.  Unlike James Bradley's books, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, but felt in his story telling that I was being "sold" on the authors political agendas.

"The Only Thing Worth Dying For", is a book that anyone wishing to have a better understanding of the difficulty of what has been going on in Afganistan, would greatly appreciate and take away an appreciation for the sacrifices and difficulty of creating stability in an unstable region.  I highly reccomend reading this book.
