The internet is a splendid thing. As I was perusing the vast amounts of useless information I came across a gem. All one of you that read my last post may remember that I recently had a birthday. September 1st to be exact. To my ever loving bewilderment I learned that I share a birthday with the lovely Yvonne DeCarlo. Lest you think this is another one of my sarcastic musings, you would be terribly misinformed. Yvonne DeCarlo stole my heart at a young pubescent age as I ran home from school and would sit in front of the tube to watch the Munsters. Yeah there was Eddie, Herman, Grandpa and the others, but Lilly Munster stole the show. Lilly was the ghoulish matriarchal head of the...dare I say dysfunctional family? She turned dysfunction into a symphony of function.
The pieces all came together for me as I was reading of Yvonne's lengthy roles. I always thought that Moses in the 10 Commandments got the prettiest wife, even though they made her to be the oldest and homeliest of the sisters. Moses got quality and beauty with Yvonne. She herded the sheep as Moses retreats to Mt. Sinai to commune with God, she like the matriarchal Munster mom, keeps it all together while everything else around is in chaos.
Sadly Yvonne past in 2007 of heart failure...which would be an appropriate end to a lovely lady who stole my heart many years ago.

How touching! You must have a penchant for monstrous women. I have not yet, learned to master dysfunction into function yet, however. Someday my beautiful Edward,...someday!
